Watch Out For Malware In 'GTA 5' Mods

GTA 5 mods are blowing up the Internet now, allowing players to do everything from drown Los Santos in a flood, use the gravity gun from Half-Life 2, or play as a flying chimp with a gun that fires cars. What that means is a whole lot of people downloading files from a whole lot of different sources, and as a result we're seeing some unsavory behavior. People are saying that they're finding malware in some of their GTA 5 mods, and so, as always, it's a good idea to keep an eye on your computer to[...] read »

Why Supergirl Shouldn't Join The Flash/Arrowverse

Yesterday, we saw the debut of the first trailer for CBS’s Supergirl. Well, “trailer” doesn’t really do it justice, as it’s an extensive six-minute preview leagues beyond the types of short teasers we’re normally used to in this day and age. read »

'Wildstar' Is One More Nail In The Coffin Of The Subscription MMO

Colorful MMO Wildstar looks like it's going to go free-to-play. I could have written that headline months ago, when the game first launched, but one supposes it had to get to this point on its own. An anonymous developer recently wrote on SteamDB about NCsoft's plan to take the game free-to-play in August ahead of a release in China. And while nothing's confirmed, none of this should come as a remote surprise, either: not only have Wildstar's numbers been less than stellar, this is the same story[...] read »

'Gears Of War' Remastered Xbox One Footage Leaks Online

E3 is in the air, and we can expect a steady stream of leaks and teases as all the major companies prepare to show off their latest in greatest next month in LA. One game that we've been almost positive we're going to see at Microsoft's press conference on Monday is Gears of War, and it looks like some footage from an Xbox One remastered edition of the 2006 original has leaked online. The footage originally appeared on XboxDVR before being yanked, but soon started popping up around the Internet. A[...] read »

Konami's 'Mobile Games Are The Future' Statement Reads Like A Parody

Konami is no one’s favorite company right now. After a very messy split with Hideo Kojima, PT has been taken down from digital stores, Silent Hills has been cancelled and the future of Metal Gear Solid is uncertain. But now there might be a reason that Konami doesn’t seem bothered that it’s killing all its beloved console franchises. read »

'Destiny' Update Delayed In Run-up To 'House of Wolves'

Bungie is preparing shared world shooter Destiny for the big House of Wolves expansion, but it appears to be experiencing a little technical slowdown. Update 1.2.0 was supposed to hit today, but it's being held back for unknown reasons. Community Manager "Deej" posted in the Destiny forums about the progress:

"I've spoken with the finest minds at Bungie about Update 1.2.0 just moments ago. They're working to correct a late-breaking technical issue that would have impacted the way the[...] read »
